The Laytonville Angel Fund for the Arts was established by a group of Laytonville community members who organized the First and Second Fridays at Albert’s as a fundraiser to support the arts in Laytonville. Proceeds from the 2018 Second Fridays at Albert’s were awarded to local projects and organizations for the purpose of supporting the arts. In total, over $1,500 was awarded to three deserving projects/organizations: Long Valley Dance, Friends of the Long Valley Public Library and the Laytonville Elementary School garden.

The Laytonville Angel Fund for the Arts, a program sponsored by Harwood Memorial Park and Laytonville Healthy Start, called for requests for proposals to apply for funds raised through the Second Fridays at Albert’s during 2018.

In the past three years, The Angel Fund for the Arts funded the construction of a labyrinth and reconstruction of flags at Laytonville High School. It provided funding for curtains a speaker system and a video recorder at Long Valley Dance, and put art supplies in elementary school classrooms. It funded the extension of the Salmon Banner, an elementary school art project used county-wide for salmon education. It provided recently funds for garden murals at Laytonville Elementary School and community-based projects, such as recording equipment for local musicians.

The Art Angels would like to invite the community to attend an art party at Albert’s (off Highway 101 in downtown Laytonville across from the Post Office) on Saturday, May 18 starting at 4 p.m. There will be local arts & crafts vendors, live music, wine and food. For more information, please contact Healthy Start at (707) 984-8089.

Thank you Laytonville for your support so we can give grants to support the arts in our community!
