In April 2004, the Long Valley Garden Club awards chairman, Gene Swartz, presented the Chung Family of Foster's Market with a plaque, as follows:

"We, the members of the Long Valley Garden Club and citizens of the community of Laytonville, are here to recognize the Chung family for their garden, a beautiful spot, which all who pass this way may enjoy.

"This family, which comes from half way around the world, has become respected and admired for their store, one of the major businesses of our community, and for their compassion and helpfulness to their customers.

"Now they have created this garden which gives its gift of beauty to everyone who sees it and adorns a place which, before the garden, was a blight.

"It is only fitting that the Long Valley Garden Club should present to you, the Chungs, this plaque for your work of love for which we are so grateful.  It reads: 'Presented to the Chung family by the Long Valley Garden Club in recognition of their garden, a gift of great beauty to the community of Laytonville.'

"In addition to the plaque, Weathertop Nursery and the garden club are giving you a gift certificate from Weathertop Nursery for anything you may want or need for the garden.

"Once again thank you."
